Reinforced soil slopes offer a fast, economical and versatile technique for constructing embankments or repairing slope failures when a steep face angle is required. In fact, slopes may be built at any angle up to vertical. A structural facing is not normally necessary for Tensar reinforced slopes less than 45°. While for steeper slopes greater than 45°, some form of temporary or permanent facing is required.

Environmental constraints and rising land costs have increased the need for value engineering, frequently requiring the engineer to make use of poor quality soils as fill materials.

Reinforced soil slopes provide an economic solution and give engineers the confidence to create structures with a natural green finish.
